For working vehicles, mobile service is often the only version of this that makes sense. A box truck or a sprinter parked in a yard off 39th Street cannot spend a morning driving across the borough and a further two hours sitting in a bay, and some of them are too tall to come inside anyway. Sending the glass to the vehicle removes both problems, and the price is the same as if it had come to us.
What we need is a spot in the yard where the vehicle can stand undisturbed and somebody who can hand over the keys. Multiple vehicles get staged rather than done at once, so the fleet never loses more than one at a time. Chips get filled on the spot, which on a commercial screen is the cheapest thing you will do all month. Full windshields require the vehicle to stay put for about an hour after fitting, so we schedule those against the run sheet rather than in the middle of it. Invoicing goes to the business, and commercial claims are billed to the carrier from here. Anything that turns out to need the lift or the diagnostic bench gets brought in afterwards rather than bodged in the yard.
